PayCryptoHost — non-custodial crypto payment gateway

How to Accept Bitcoin Payments on BigCommerce

BigCommerce's app platform allows offsite payment providers, so the PayCryptoHost integration installs like any other app: OAuth once, and orders are pushed to hosted crypto invoices with webhooks driving the status back. Custody stays with you throughout.

Before you start

  • A free PayCryptoHost account.
  • Your Bitcoin extended public key (xPub / zPub) from a wallet you control — Sparrow, Electrum, BlueWallet, Trezor or Ledger all export one.
  • Admin access to your store or billing panel.
  • Store owner access to your BigCommerce control panel.

An extended public key only lets software watch addresses and derive new ones — it can never move funds. Never paste a private key or seed phrase anywhere, including here.

Step-by-step setup

  1. 1

    Verify your xPub

Add your extended public key under Profile → Bitcoin settings in PayCryptoHost.

  2. 2

    Install the app

From the PayCryptoHost BigCommerce listing, click install and approve the OAuth scopes for orders and checkout.

  3. 3

    Confirm the connection

The app dashboard shows your connected store hash and a green status once the handshake completes.

  4. 4

    Enable crypto at checkout

Turn the payment method on in the app settings and choose which coins to display.

  5. 5

    Map order statuses

Detected payments map to Awaiting Payment / Processing and confirmed payments to Awaiting Fulfilment, matching how BigCommerce merchants normally work.

  6. 6

    Run a live test order

Place a small order and pay it to confirm the webhook writes the status back to BigCommerce.

What you get

  • One-click OAuth install with no server to run.
  • Self-custodial settlement on an enterprise platform.
  • Automatic order status sync through webhooks.
  • No per-order revenue share.

Troubleshooting

App install fails at the OAuth step

BigCommerce requires store owner (not staff) permissions to install apps that request payment scopes. Retry as the store owner account.

Statuses are not syncing

Reopen the app dashboard — if the token was revoked by a password reset on the store, reinstall to refresh it.

Frequently asked questions

Does BigCommerce support self-custodial crypto payments?

Yes, through an offsite payment app. PayCryptoHost generates a hosted invoice per order and settles to addresses derived from your own xPub.

Do I need a developer?

No. The app installs through OAuth and is configured from its dashboard.

Ready to take your first crypto payment?

Create an account, add your xPub, and send a test invoice — most merchants are live the same day.
